What we collect from you
- Your account: your email address and, if you sign up with one, a password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and never seen or stored by us.
- What you ask us to research: the website address you enter, the description of your buyer, any competitors you name, and the report we build from them.
- How you work through a report: the statuses, notes and saved places you mark.
- Billing: your credit balance and purchase history. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers.
What we do with it
We use it to build and show your reports, to run the weekly monitoring on the membership, to keep your balance right, and to answer you when you write to us. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Neon — the database where your account, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and reports are kept (United States).
- Zoho (ZeptoMail and Zoho Mail) — sends the emails that confirm your address and reset your password, and holds the mailbox you write to us at.
- Stripe — card payments.
- Anthropic — the Claude model that reads your website, plans searches and checks whether each place reaches your buyer. It receives the text of your site and your buyer description. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms this is not used to train their models.
- Serper — web search. It receives search phrases about your market, not your account details.
- YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Podcast Index — public directories we search for creators and podcasts.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the site and the background work.
YouTube
ChannelVerity uses YouTube API Services to find public YouTube channels and read their public statistics, such as subscriber counts and upload dates. We do not access your YouTube or Google account. By using ChannelVerity you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Reports you share
A report is private to your account until you create a share link. Anyone with that link can read the report, and you can stop sharing at any time from the report.
Cookies and storage in your browser
We set the cookies sign-in needs, and keep a few preferences on your own device — light or dark theme, how you sort a list, and a form you were filling in before signing up. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
Public information about the places we check
Reports are built from information that podcasts, newsletters, events and other businesses publish about themselves — names, websites, publishing schedules, prices and published contact addresses. If you run one of those places and want something about it corrected or removed, write to hello@channelverity.com.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your account and reports for as long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time from Settings, and it happens at once: your sign-in, reports, saved places, notes and monitoring history are deleted, and share links stop working. What we keep is the record of credits and payments, under an anonymous account number and without your email address, for as long as tax law requires.
